Dance Yrself Clean into 2014

NYE Danielle

Every year since This Is Happening came out I seem to have my go to jam for NYE, the new year, etc…of course it’s the inspiration for my blog and well I guess you would say it’s also my motto:  Dance Yrself Clean.  But this year I’m gonna spice it up, like infusing champagne with a little strawberry I am going with not the LCD Soundsystem version but the MS MR cover.  I turned 30 back in September and don’t want to be soooo predictable, plus I just love it and it puts the biggest smile on my face.  Hey hey hey don’t get me wrong the original will always be my everything but MS MR just outdid themselves in 2013 with this version.

So stream below, have a wonderful NYE, a very very VERY happy New Year, get rid of those mean friends, those actual jerks in your life (come on we all need to do some purging of who we let in, I know I sure do) and ummm don’t forget of all things to go and dance yrself clean yeahhhhhhh:

I am not always a museum type of girl (I get bored easily what can I say) but I can’t recommend this Jean Paul Gaultier exhibit at the Brooklyn Museum enough.  I mean the fashion for one is to die for plus there are mannequins that kind of come to life.  It’s pretty damn spectacular!

TWIN SHADOW Appreciation Day

28 Dec

Just A TWIN SHADOW Appreciation Day

I think we all tend to go on certain kicks with our fave bands and artists.  I know I do.  And today from the moment I woke up I just had to bust out one of my favorite albums of 2012 Twin Shadow‘s Confess and pretty much make my neighbors concerned that I might need an intervention from how many times I can play it in a day. It’s an incredible album (would make my list  of fave LPs any year, 2013 included).  Just like the first time I heard it…it still only takes about FIVE SECONDS to get my heart!

Must See Movie: The Secret Life Of Walter Mitty

Must See Movie: The Secret Life Of Walter Mitty

I will admit I cried during the trailer to The Secret Life Of Walter Mitty…and well I cried during the actual movie too. I was just touched by it and pretty much inspired. Ben Stiller in my opinion has always done an incredible job as a director (Reality Bites, The Cable Guy) and he did it again here. And I mean he surrounded himself with some of my faves so maybe I’m a little biased because I’m already a huge Stiller, Kristen Wiig, Sean Penn, Patton Oswalt and Adam Scott fan but nah I don’t think that’s it at all…I think it’s just a great film that I don’t want to talk too much about because no spoiling allowed. Plus, the soundtrack…Jose Gonzalez (Step Out and Stay Alive oh my I just can’t with how great these new tracks are), Of Monsters And Men, Junip, David Bowie/Kristen Wiig etc).  So what are you waiting for, go spend an afternoon or evening or hell both with Mr. Walter Mitty!  I don’t think you’ll regret it.
