DYC’s Fave Gold and Stone Jams

25 Apr

Spring isn’t sure if it wants to be in a serious relationship at all, maybe it is just in for a fling but the music that’s come out this month is in for long haul.  Totally is all having all these feelies and emotions etc.  And those feelies and emotions are so being felt as well.

For Record Store Day we got a gorgeous new track “As Far As I Could Get” from Florence + The Machine, Eternal Summers with their album title track proved the new LP “Gold And Stone” is one to be excited about, as is TorresSprinter…the latest track to hit the blogosphere from it “Cowboy Guilt” will make you feel guilty only if you don’t listen to it!  Wet‘s new single”Deadwater” is absolutely stunning, VERITE keeps proving why she is gonna be huge as did Aurora this week. Both of their latest jams “Colors” and “Running With The Wolves” are splendid!

So yeah I hope you find at least one new track you want to date seriously and all. Stream DYC’s Fave Gold and Stone Jams below:

DYC Fave Lights Shine On Jams

12 Jul

July has brought such a great mix of jams to the table so far.  I’m loving this Summer and wanting to just put a stop on time.  And the music I’ve been obsessing over this week fits this mood.  I want to just keep them all on repeat!

I’m talking new Cut Copy, Interpol, Jenny Lewis, We Were Promised Jetpacks, Lemonade, Wet, Blonde Redhead, and Generationals!  Plus we got a few new acts to keep an ear on:  Rey Pila, Honeyblood, Francisco The Man, and Roses.  So what are you waiting for stream this week’s delightful as fuck playlist below:

Wet/No Lie (Noah Breakfast/Spank Rock remix)

I have had the huge pleasure of seeing Wet live…it was a bit after CMJ when they headlined an early Mercury Lounge show.  They were beyond impressive and have become one of the acts I’m so excited to hear so much more from in 2014.  And now Spank Rock and Noah Breakfast have remixed their track No Lie.  So really now there are no excuses for not checking out Wet.  Stream the No Lie getting the soooo fricking hot remix treatment below:

And if you’re in the NYC area Wet will be at The Westway (with the also amazing GEMS) February 6th!  I can’t wait!

WET at Mercury Lounge

WET at Mercury Lounge

This is our last song. We only have 8 songs but we’re working on it…”

One band I was so bummed to not end up catching at CMJ was most defiitely WET. It just didn’t work out with the whole upstairs/downstairs business at Santos Party House.  But it’s okay.  Seeing them at Mercury Lounge’s early November 21st show was just proof I didn’t have to worry about missing them because oh they have a huge career ahead of them. From Dreams to Bad Idea to Don’t Wanna Be Your Girl to U Da Best etc, Kelly Zutrau’s voice was just pure perfection.  I can only imagine the larger venues this trio will be playing in a year’s time.  They are ready.  And oh I am ready to buy the tickets to those shows and an eventual amazing debut LP!
