KATE BOY, The Kite String Tangle, VERITE at Glasslands 10/25/14

What can I say about seeing a CMJ show with KATE BOY headlining on the last night of CMJ …oh I’ll say it, it is utter glorious perfection.  I had seen KATE BOY at Mercury Lounge in September of 2013 and had been waiting ever so impatiently for them to come back to NYC.  Last night at Glasslands they definitely helped to make one of Glasslands final shows (and pretty much a final CMJ show there) a stellar experience.  Self Control, Open Fire, In Your Eyes, Northern Lights, Lion For Real, The Way We Are, etc…ahhh I wanna go back now!

This trio is not huge yet (why I don’t know) but they will be.  It is inevitable that I will soon enough be fighting with Ticketmaster to get a ticket to see them sell out Terminal 5!

Also on the bill was The Kite String Tangle and VERITE.  Both were great openers who were so gracious to be a part of CMJ and to be at Glasslands.

I only got to go to one CMJ show this year but I definitely feel I picked a great one.  KATE BOY until we meet again, which hopefully will be very soooon!

DYC’s Fave Open Fire Jams

This week’s playlist is super short but sweet and hey sometimes quality over quantity is perfection.  Kate Boy dropped a brand new track called “Open Fire” and definitely is my top pick for acts to see at CMJ this year!  If you’ve seen Kate Boy before you know what I’m talking about and if not well then just trust me on this one! Big Data has a new jam out called “The Business Of Emotion” featuring White Sea (aka the stellar Morgan Kibby)!  Vita Bergen‘s “Disconnection” is another one hot from the Swedish duo!  And last but not least Brooklyn’s PROM‘s EP title track Keeping Company is just delightful and then some.  So what are you waiting for stream this foursome of a playlist below:
